Why are some knife, dagger, and sword blades magnetized?

  1. Magnetized on purpose? I don't know. but magnetized on accident is possible. either the user exposed the iron in the steel to some strong magnet while smelting it, or the iron could of already have been magnetized before he smelted it. Of course, if he melted the iron it would no longer be magnetized because melting a magnetic metal makes it non-magnetic.


  2. Maybe so you could have some kind of magnetic sheath from which they won't easily fall????  Or so you can stick them on your refrigerator?  Never heard of that.
