Why are some libs and dems seemingly celebrating this hurricane?

I thought democrats were supposed to be the party of/for the people. But all I see is people who think the devastating effects to the republican party are more important than what the hurricane could do to the coast.

The True Colors of the Liberals in this country are in plain view once again.  They could never put their country first...it's not in them.

This follows their historical past with Tammany Hall victimizing the Irish as they landed in this country, supporting Slavery and Secession, cultivating the KKK, turning a blind eye towards n**i treatment of Jews and Censoring the Newspapers of the time so people were not easily aware of it, placing Americans of Japanese descent in US Concentration Camps while pampering n**i POWs in Florida, the Tuskegee Experiment against Blacks, the Mexican Forced Repatriation, executing a toddler at Ruby Ridge, falsely accusing Richard Jewel at Centennial Park, Illegal Wiretapping of Martin Luther King Jr, Illegal incarceration of Wen Ho Lee while his white superiors doing the same acts weren't touched...it goes on and on!

Because they enjoy seeing people in distress? I can't think of any other reason (or any >mature< reason) why it should make them happy.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$... is the reason Big Daddy!  Hurricanes & disasters are currently the HOT TICKET to YOUR tax dollars!  Why yesterdays news(the homeless) can cash in on BIG federal wages in helping clean up the leftover mess!  AND, here's the GOOD part...the hurricanes strike every year,  just like the Ohio floods & California sage brush fires so it's job security at YOURS & MY cost!

Dump the Libertarians & marry up with the liberals, chronic unemployeed, dog dingers, minorities druggies/alkies, under achievers etc if ya really want job security!!!

Well, I haven't seen anyone celebrating the hurricane, I have only seen paranoid Republicans claiming that people are.  But let's just suppose for a moment that this fantasy has some basis in reality.  Then maybe it would be because the hurricane would disrupt the RNC (silly, since they already moved it Minneapolis).  Or maybe it would be because the hurricane's effects, as terrible as they might be, will be temporary and relatively easy to repair, while the damage done to the country by the current Republican administration is intended to be permanent and will take a miracle to fix.

And for the record, I'm no liberal or socialist or Democrat, I support the only honestly conservative candidate in the pack, the one that the neo-con Republicans chose to trivialize and ignore:  Ron Paul.
