Question:

Why are some mothers SO mean to other mothers?

Why do some people feel it so necessary to be such jerks when they are answering other parent's questions here? Not one of us is perfect and we all come from different backgrounds, education levels, and amounts of experience. Doesn't it at least say something if a parent has the insight to actually research a question or seek out answers? Aren't we all in this together? Why are some people so incredibly rude? I'd risk saying we are all doing the best we know how to do.

  1. amen.

some people just don't know manners.

  2. I do agree with Mark's wifee that I think people have very strong opinions about certain subjects. However, I don't think people have to be rude while answering a question. If I don't agree with someone I can still be civil when answering the question.

  3. It's the internet and some people think that it gives them a free chance to be an a**hat.  Thankfully, I have never encountered any moms that are that rude in real life.  Just think how sad their lives must be that they have to get their kicks insulting strangers.

  4. there just like that

  5. People tend to say things on the internet that would NEVER have the balls to say to someone in person!

  6. I think you are offended because you are hostile towards your baby. I dont understand how a grown woman would get on here and say that her childs 'grunting' gets on her nerves. c'mon lady. what did you expect when you had a baby?

you need to take a chill pill and stop complaining so much. Do us all a favor and STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER.

  7. It's weird, isn't it?  I mean, I have strong opinions on a lot of things, but I do try to be nice and convincing rather than rude and ridiculing because I've learned along the way that you're more likely to get what you want using the former rather than the latter.  Not everyone remembers that, and not everyone cares.  And sometimes, because it's the internet, what you mean is not what is read.

Oh, and regarding the grunting, I HIGHLY recommend using sign language.  It will help him communicate effectively and probably will help with the grunting (I hope)  We just referred to this site:

commtechlab.msu.edu/sites/aslweb/brows... (if it doesn't come out, just google "asl browser")

and introduced words one at a time, and were very, very, very consistent with usage.

    hope that helps!

  8. I think some people just have stronger opinions on certain subjects. If you use a public question board, you're going to get a lot of different opinions .. isn't that the point of asking a question?

..if you don't like a variety of answers, don't use Yahoo! Answers.
