  1. There you are... if only London could act for the best of the UK...

  2. I actually think the english bid was better than the french one, but hey hoo... the english didn't want to reciprocate the fact that wales gave them a load of games in 1999, or offer anything too wales to support their bid...(like they demanded of wales for their support) so the welsh and scottish went with the french.

  3. some games are played in wales and scotland because for france to get the vote for being hosts to the rugby world cup, France said that if scotland and wales voted for them then they will allow games in their own country

  4. The Welsh and Scottish Rugby Unions where offered home pool games in return for their support of France's world cup bid against England.

  5. I heard on Radio 5 LIve on Saturday that France essentially bribed Wales and Scotland into supporting their bid for the World Cup by promising that they could host a game or two each.

  6. The Scottish and Welsh were offered games at home by the French Rugby Federation, on the understanding that they (The Scots and Welsh) voted against England hosting the rugby world cup.

This was seen as a spit in the eye from the ERB, and may hamper Scots and Welsh bids for further rugby development, by not having English backing.

  7. Because the french bribed them to vote against England holding the world cup and the craven individuals who did this will be heros in their so called countries.
