sometimes its Genetic.. people get diabetes when they get older because the pancreas gets older and doesn't work properly as it used to.. Also many people get it due to being overweight.

In the future, doctors hope that a method of automatic sugar control will be developed so that diabetics need no longer be concerned with their condition. This method could involve biosensors to monitor blood sugar levels and release insulin when it is needed.
