Im not trying to offend anyone,( i have no problems with people being g*y because its their life and who am i to judge) but is there a scientific reason why some people are attracted to the same s*x? ive heard so many different explanations for it:

-levels of estrogen and testosterene

-its a choice

-its just the way that their brains work

but whats the true reason?

  1. Have you ever dated a person you did not find sexually appealing? But after a period of time cultivating feelings for that person you found yourself sexually excited with them?

I have had this experience with women I found to be good friends, but later I began to find them sexually appealing. Whether people want to admit it or not homosexuality is a choice. Sure, you could measure the more effeminate males and masculine females and find a corresponding testosterone level, but this is just a red-herring. There was a particular time in everyone life when people "decide" what they like. But as you may of guessed this choice is urged toward the procreation equivalent, for obvious reasons of course.

Of course, due to the influx of beer commercials and more risque programming on TV has redirected many females to the g*y persuasion. The influx of more lesbians (and because it is the straight male's fault and secret desire, it is seen as ok) more men feel better after having trouble getting along with women try the other side. And the sad situation is now more parents are not only supporting their g*y kids, but grooming them to be g*y.

  2. Being heterosexual and homosexual has nothing to do with the medical world or what have you. It is a choice which people act upon.

If we follow upon the ideas of Darwin, then we can say that becoming homosexual could be a cause of evolution. Many of scientists or a trip to a zoo can show you that some of our "ancestors" are indeed bisexual or homosexual. This mainly shows up in the social animals, or pack animals. A pack animal that i have witnessed having relations while at the zoo are monkeys. I do know that male dolphins mate with each other while not in the season in order to help themselves and not impregnate females and the baby die.

However i don't believe it. I say it is a choice that people make. Just like heterosexuals pick who they want to like and who they are attracted to, homosexuals do the same thing.

Well if it was a case of hormones we may as well be a little bisexual, because we all have some of the other hormone in us. Then some have more of the opposite hormones than others.

I've seen homosexuals and heterosexuals that are the exact same when it comes to their brains and the way it works. The brain is a tissue matter which stores information and makes connections. Thus meaning if you went by this theory the person in question would have to witness some form of homosexualness then their brain make connections and associate that as good and heterosexual relations as bad

However, I believe it all has to do with our sexual orientation. Sexual orientation evolves over time and it can take a person their life before they finally realise what they are attracted to. Some people have a fixed orientation, whereas others have one that is fluid and it changes overtime.

But i believe that it is based off of choices and orientation. Why? I've seen many of straight people become g*y/bisexual. But never the other way around. Believe what you want but I dont really care because personally I find homosexuals way better than heterosexuals, but I am also a heterosexual female.

  3. All those answers are correct. The one that would be best is the medical reason. This is something that everyone can except. They are researching it now to find out if it is some sort of birth defect or not, and if it can be prevented.

For others, it is just attention seeking and a choice. They want to be different and go against the norm.

If/When they find out it is medical, your going to see a big change in the marriage campaign then. Medical check will be the deciding factor. If it is not present, then they are out of luck.

P.S. Another way to look at it is: It's Mother Natures way of poking her nose in to curve the earths human population. =)

  4. i have no idea. i have g*y friends and for their sake i like to blame genetics for it but i really dont think thats the case. ive read alot about it and the most logical thing ive heard (read) is that it happens over time when the kid is little because of how they are raised. wat they are exposed to, wat they are taught, for example if a boy grows up best friends with a barbie-obsessed girl and a family that encourages it then it should be fairly obvious where he's going. but if a family is active in encouraging common activities for his/her s*x and also lightly pushing the other gender on them. pushing too much can pressure the kid and make them not want to have any interest in the opposite s*x at all. just bring it up every once in a while, ask wat they think of some hot girls on tv (or guys watever) that sort of thing. (obviously when they are more like 10 or older)

but yeah i prolly didnt explain that the best but when i read it it made alot of sense to me

  5. will it is not a choic poeple are just born to atract to the smae s*x

  6. The true reason is still a "medical" mystery that is trying to be figured out. It could be any number or reasons or a combination of reasons. I saw an article recently that discussed the fact that some homosexual men had some of the same brain patterns as women. With some people, it might be a choice. There was a show one time with a man who claimed he used to be homosexual and became heterosexual through some kind of training. It's really hard to say why people are the way they are.

  7. everybody goes thru their lives at making choices according to what More's are of the society they reside in and of course the laws. When we reach maturity these decisions are taken as a choice of preference both for survival and the pursuit of happiness. The genetics of ourselves also play a significant influence on the psyche of most people and again a choice is made in reference to the subject mentioned. Needless to say, we ought to be glad we're all wired differently or there would be one "h**l-of-a-line" at the gas pump!

O.K. Genetic research is based on a theory and not of factual difference. The public is often misinformed by these "hop-scotch" scientific ideas and a lack of education results. In the early 1950's psychiatry was just getting started and this needed some kind of boost as with in any medical science a medical model is needed, since psychiatry requires a degree in medical knowledge the "psyches" utilized the benefits of the medical model. it was here that psychiatry became a prominent art in the attempt to bring society closer to acknowledgment of the art. Without this desperate reach out psychiatry wouldn't exist in popularity.
