  1. I believe there are so many people out there that just have bad manners and our disrespectful, and enjoy putting down people, because they know they will never have to meet this person, maybe it is a escape for them.  Sorry to be negative, but I read a lot of peoples answers and they are mean and cruel, but also there are some who give good information and caring feeling, so unfortunately we have the good and bad, enjoy the good answers.  I have posted questions and got some really insulting remarks, so I understand your concern.

  2. Some people get mean when they are asked a question because they feel put out by having to answer the question- They might feel the person is an idiot for asking the question when the only what to learn is to ask questions. Other people might think that every body around them should know every thing about horses and they don't want to answer.

  3. Because they don't have any class. If they have to say unkind things they shouldn't answer questions from people who are trying to find out information about something.

  4. Some people here seem to think it's funny that people ask question's concerning horses. Some people here are heartless too and can careless about what people think. I wish there could be one of those things where you would report a rude answer but you can't.

  5. My opinion based upon observation. The problem is you're

asking questions in the wrong category. If you are a horse lover

direct your questions to "Pets / horses". This is a horseRACING

category; the responders are most likely people who wager

(gamble) on horses. By and large horses are just a betting

interest, a name with a program number, not a living entity.

That goes for the jockey too. A bit insensitive perhaps, but a reality. Almost every time I've seen a horse break down during

a race or the joc lose his mount, the reaction of the betters

are based upon how it effected their bets, and

little concern for the fate of the horse or the jockey. Many

betters wouldn't know the difference between a horse and a cow, and only care about who gets to the wire first.

The NY Racing Association (NYRA) used to have a free

horseracing forum for horseracing fans. People got abusive and insulting

for those asking "dumb" questions or those disagreeing with

them. People who said that they loved a horse as a real flesh and blood entity were frequently subjected to chastisement . After several warnings from administrators the forum was discontinued.

Betters who lose much money on a horse become very opinionated, a will say that they hate certain horses.

Try the category that I suggested above if you just have a

general horse question; the responders may be kinder

    and more sympathetic.

Addendum: The negatives above are primarily directed to the frequent horseplayer/better not to the people in the industry directly responsible for the horse's well being.

  6. i tink they get mean when u asked question cuz they dont know the answer

  7. They probably saw the question in the "All Categories" section.

They aren't really participating in the horse talk.

w_c_b - I've noticed many questions that I have posted in "Horse Racing" show up in the "All Categories" section. That's why it's called "All Categories" - all questions end up there.

  8. I agree with the answer above mine. But there are also people out there who come into the horse racing category trying to stir up trouble. If you don't agree with racing, you really don't need to be in this category.

There are a lot of people who answer here who LOVE racing, and love the horses and people associated with them. We will try to give you the best answer we can.

I work in the racing industry, I have been hooked on horses since I was 3 and I love it! As in ALL life situations, there are good people in the industry and there are bad ones.

  9. Maybe because a horse irritated them before, so they arent intrested in Horses anymore

  10. if you take a person to the track for the first time, they will either love the sport or hate it...i went for the 1st time 35 years ago, and have been stuck ever since, a race like the Belmont on Saturday will make me over look the bad races i see on a daily basis.....and down the stretch they come....
