Why are some people so against g*y marriage?

Why is it anyone else's business?

*Please do not give me the whole Bible speech, because that it just ignorant.

Because obviously g*y marriage will encourage people to be g*y, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall..

Well the simple answer is because they have sticks shoved their asses, but if you want the long answer I could provide that too.

Some people are afraid of what they do not understand.

Most people are just closed minded.  But things will change for the better.  People were afraid to let women vote, free African-American slaves, and stop segregation.  But all these things happened because women deserved to vote, African-Americans deserved to be free, and no race is better than another.  I believe in the future that g*y marriage will be accepted because g**s and lesbians deserve g*y marriage.

With your request not to "give the whole Bible speech", there really isn't anything to write about - the whole basis of people going against g*y marriage is because they believe homosexuality to be an "abomination" (based on the infamous Leviticus chapter).

There is no good reason, in the arena of human rights and equality and social justice, that g*y people should be denied the right of marriage. The basis for its denial has always been religious based.

And good old fashioned hatred.

Because, those people are usually people who are too ugly to get married, and don't want people who they consider *beneath* them to feel happiness :)
