Why are some people so vicious to unstable desperate people that have nowhere else to turn but yahoo answers?

surely if you have an opinion, state it, but its meant to be helpful! have a laugh we all need one of them once in a while but

if you don't have a useful answer, move on to the next question.

its cruel and unnecessary to personally verbally attack someone especially if they are an emotional wreck already!

I agree with you on this one. There's been people/some of my contacts that have asked some questions on here and i often find some users posting horrible and (to an extent) abusive answers. Its totally unnecessary, especially when the person is unstable emotionally, like u said. They will get theirs tho, its Karma and its real, trust me.

but you have to look at it this way too...sometimes the truth hurts and when a person thinks theyre being attacked or dont think the advice is helpful its because sometimes its just something they dont want to hear...

yea there are harsh answers sometimes but also there are helpful ones...

  Well I on the fence with this one to be honest.

Yes, I think it unkind to make people feel unhappy with themselves but I have seen questions on here that are so trivial or disgust me that sometimes you do allow your anger to come to the surface and unleash it in the text you write.

I think sometimes people will ask questions and someone will give an opinion - they will be blunt but least they being honest - and if you don't like that then why open yourself up and air it all on here.

You will get the ones who will give great advice and others who may slate you - that is criticism  and sometimes you just have to take it on the chin.

If someone is very depressed then maybe writing on here isn't what they need but professional help.

People come on here to try and get confirmation of their feelings. If they are being pathetic about it, i let them know. You cant pander to complete emotional cripples, you have to tell them straight. Sort out your life, cos others wont do it for you!

I am not unnecessarily cruel, but i dont sugar coat it either.

Yes I agree with you on this, but sadly I have to admit I did one time get angry with a question that was asked by a mature woman..I just felt she knew already what she wanted to hear..but I try not to get annoyed anymore.

I agree no one should be personally attacked and "laughed" at. Personally I've seen many of those answers and it pisses me off.

However, I do answer to questions honestly if I feel someone needs to wake up and realzie something i will let them know.

Of course in a nice way.

Look yes it is not nice but you are being a bit dramatic. I would doubt very seriously that there is a single soul who has ever come to this moronic waste of time as their only and last place to turn. This is a fantasy world on the internet, not a bloody clinical psychologists surgery.

I agree totally. For some people it is the only place to turn to and whilst questions may appear silly,  to them their question is really important.

I think it is wrong to ridicule people unnecessarily.

well I think some people ask some really good questions but then threes some questions where all the person wants is attention or for someone to feel sorry for them or to stroke their ego and I think they need someone to tell it like it is and sometimes it is just plain mean.

But also on the other hand people who ask genuine clear cut questions normally get fairly decent answers and the idiotic answer you should just ignore.
