We heard him say similar things I believe when he was in one of the Carolinas...it just didn't get the press this comment is. Only those who have erroneously put him on some kind of pedestal are surprised.

  1. I think most people expect those in a position of leadership to be devoid of the offenses against which they take a stand.

But, if people really did treat others the way they would want to be treated, instead of giving lip service to ideals and profiteering and power brokering off of the dissension created, we wouldn't be in the mess we are in.

  2. It did not surprised me it more than shocked me. The Reverend Jesse Jackson should relinquish all of his activities a minster of God. It is only appreciate that he apologized to Senator Obama for this remark. The people who looked to for guidance should began to look  else. In this age of instantiate communication it would only be prudent he should not be on the air waves again. I doubt that Senator Obama in the poetical area again. It is more than pitiful that any one should make remarks about any body like that.

  3. What is truly disappointing is the fact that this man is supposed to be a Reverend!

  4. He does not surprise me at all........he has a proven track record of bad things.........

  5. Yes, I think that a little professional jealousy exists.

Please keep in mind that Jesse's heyday was the 1970s.  Also Rev. Jackson is perceived as racist by many.  Yes, Rev. Jackson ran for president in 1984 and 1988 but lost the nomination.  In fact most of his support was in the South.

It is a new era and a new millennium; things have changed considerably.  Sen Obama is more educated, younger, and probably more popular and better received.  During the recent primary,

Barack Obama won many states that Jesse Jackson did not.  Additionally, Sen. Obama is the presumptive nominee.

Nonetheless, Rev. Jackson has apologized and Sen. Obama has accepted the apology.  It is time for the rest of us to put this matter to rest and focus on the issues in the upcoming elections - not innuendos and gossip.
