I agree with the first guy but sometimes I honestly think they're jealous they aren't in highschool anymore.  Some of my teachers are so gossipy about me and my friends and it's pathetic really.

It is a stress-filled job and some people take out that stress on the kids they teach.  And, like others have stated, you'll find mean people in any occupation...teaching is no different.  When you enter the workforce full-time, you will unfortunately find mean bosses, nasty coworkers, and rude customers.

Most  of them are mean because when they were younger that didnt have a god life at home or they just weren't raised right..... and sum times us kids dont really appreicate them and es they are underpaid.... for all of those fights tht break out in certain parts of the school. they have to stop that stuff and they aren't paid enough for that.

and some teachers are just mean bcuz they dont like kids and they think that the kids are bad seeds and **** like that!

dont listen to the people on here that are not teachers and certainly not the ones who are students themselves.  it has nothing to do with pay (im pretty sure we knew the pay and consequences before we took the job). have you ever met someone who was mean but not a teacher?  well thats just a personality type and its your opinion.  also do you ever get mean sometimes if things are not goin right for you or do your parents ever get mean when things are bothering them?  well teachers are human beings as well and sometimes whatever is goin on in their personal life comes out in their actions.  im not saying its right but im saying that you cant judge a book by its cover, you never know what people are going through in their lives.

well some are underestimated/not respected and that can hurt them and in return be shown through thier teaching and also they may just be strict and with strictness may come a teacher who actually just wants you to learn so they stress stuff alot and just seem mean but then when you get a teacher who just doesn't teach you anything you'll appreciate the strict ones

WELL IT MAY ALSO DEPENDS ON HOW YOU BEHAVE TOWARS YOUR TEACHER. ARE YOU A GOOD STUDENT? IF SO THEN, WHO KNOW PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS STRESSED OUT, MORE IF THEY ARE IN THE EDUCATION FIELD.

First of all, they are under-paid.  Then the students don't really appreciate the effort they are putting forth to educate the youth of our nation.
