  1. The fact that *The American People* want out of it is good enough for me.

If we were "allowed" to vote on getting out of the "U.N.", Nafta, Gatt, Cafta, Nato we'd be out of those things *tommorow morning!*

Every one of those things involves money flowing from "us" to "them."

All those orgs and individuals with their grandiose ideas have one thing in common, they *ALWAYS* involve U.S. Taxpayer Dollars!

We're good at getting involved in those things but when it comes time to get out of them the buarocrats just "expand the mission" of these things.

Look at Nato for a perfect example!

Their sole reason for being *doesn't even exist* anymore!

Instead they talk about "Nato in Africa!" Africa!

You need to understand that the buerocrats in these orgs, hundreds of thousands of them, who are making $100k per year for sitting in offices writing "memos" to each other and "attending luncheons" DO NOT want to be cast out into the D.P.S. (Dreaded Private Sector) where they would actually be expected to *produce* something!

And their ranks like the U.S. State Dept are swollen with "graduates" of the JFK School of Government, a snake-pit of global socialism.

U.S. Coast Guard "code" for the State Dept is; "white collar welfare."

We already have people to run our government, they're called "Congressmen" and "Senators."

We don't need any outsiders meddling in our internal affairs.

"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy."

                    - Sir Winston Churchill-

  2. Because The UN has been and always will be the failed League of Nations as envisioned by President Wilson back in 1919

  3. ignorance.

added. some blame the bad acts of a few member states on the UN as a whole. that is as ignorant as trying to blame the whole US military for the bad acts of a few.

  4. The basic reason is that of interest for or insecurity about the national sovereignty of the United States. They view the United Nations as a Super national "State" apparatus which would essentially function as a planetary government.

To that end, it is in nobody's interest that the United Nations be particularly strong and / or independent of the primary donor nations (the US being the primary donor nation). You wouldn't want a very strong international organization or world government, because if that became a dictatorship, who exactly would come to save us?

So for the last 60 some years, the UN has been kept minimally small , adequate for the needs it serves and not a whole lot more.

There is however, an unfortunately large segment of the population which takes this reasonable concern and overblows it suggesting that the UN already exerts such influence and has too much power as it is. This is definitely not the case.

The UN is not particularly large or powerful enough to project authority without specific funding for expeditionary force and monetary contributions from member states.

Dropping out of the UN would be counterproductive for the US and US interests in dozens of ways, at the very least our participation and strong advocacy has in fact prevented non-democratic governments from making use of the UN to further non-democratic agendas across the globe.

As a point of comparison, Both China and the USSR at various times "left" the UN, only to return some months or years later when it was found that their interests were ignored by the rest of the UN members.

The plain fact is it's, I view it like a like a giant poker game, and it's just a good idea if you don't get up from the table, especially when you hold both a winning hand and most of the chips on the table, especially when , to extend the metaphor you loose your cards and some of your chips when you leave.

  5. Lots of reasons:

We give the UN way too much money.

The UN is VERY corrupt and wastes the money.

The UN is easily swayed by blocks of small corrupt countries that vote against our interests.

The UN doesn't actually do anything useful.

  6. It is a useless orginization that more often then not blames us for its problems.  They want us to provide most of the peacekeeping forces but don't support us in places like Iraq.  They pander to countries like N. Korea and Iran, sending them angry letters saying you better not build nukes but do nothing else.  When we provide more then 50% of the funds to keep it going we should have more of a say in it.  Add on the fact it is corrupt as the oil for food scandal showed.

  7. The UN is the most successful criminal enterprise of all time and it's a snake pit of anti-American sentiment.

No matter that the United States gives more charitable funding--both privately and publicly--than any other nation on the planet.

Does the UN help people in need?

Look to Sierra Leone, Rwanda, Sudan or Burma.

    s***w the UN

  8. Because it serves very little purpose anymore.  For it's original intent it served well but it's time has passed.

  9. The long and short of that is that the UN costs us way too much for far too little return.  Also it is an affront to our National Sovereignty. Further it is a scam to condition the third world to feel entitled to our efforts.  And if all of that is not enough it is a precursor to a World Government that is attempting to put the American people to its heel.

Down with the UN! Down with the Bankers! Down with the Globalists!

  10. Because some people feel the US is more important then the rest of the world and should be able to do whatever it wants without question.

Im a proud American but we should in no way shape or form even consider leaving the UN. Yes the UN needs to be run better but quitting the UN would be a bad move. It would establish the US as a rouge nation and could lead to worldwide backlash.

The UN does everything in it's power to settle things without violance even when it has become clear that a show of force is needed. The US resorts to violance way too quickly. The UN has alot to learn from the US and the US has alot to learn from the UN. Quitting wont help either one learn anything.

  11. why WOULDNT you want to drop out of the UN...Id rather hear a reason for STAYING in that rathole...

  12. Because the UN is a horribly corrupt organization bent on the removal of the sovereign governance of the United States.

  13. because the UN feel molopolized by the US... we aren't listening to other countries and doing what we want, in some people's opinion.  Another way to look at it is we are the greatest country in the world and give people great privaledges.  We should help others get to where we are and work on our own problems at the same time.  It doesn't have to be one or the other.

  14. UN is heading towards a WORLD TAX collected by UNELECTED leaders. It is bad news.

UN wants to have all members signed on to law, that supercedes each countrys own laws. THat means UN laws would overpower our Constitution.

The UN is nothing but gloablist trouble, leading ultimately towards a world "King".

  15. Because of  a curious connection. The ones who are most vocal and adamant about the U.S. leaving the Un are the very ones who have never read the UN Charter, don't know the difference between peace keeping and peace enforcement, don't know the first thing about the work of the specialized agencies and don't know that the first-post World War Two American Congress passed the UN Support Act. A Congress, I should point out, which had a healthy majority of World War Two veterans in its ranks. Men who had seen the scourge of war and wanted to find some way to prevent it in the future.
