  1. Surface piercings are harder to heal.

    that should explain it haha

  2. http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Surfac...

a surface piercing is a foreign object in the body, and if it cannot heal, it will push the piercing out instead.

  3. because they don't go through a "flap" of skin (i.e ear lobe/nostril/lip). They just "sit" there in the skin, and is in constant movement with the skin. With constant movement, it dislodges the skin trying to heal around it. In addition to that, surface piercings are usually long (1 inch), this makes the discharge of lymph and dead cells difficult, resulting in longer healing times, and resulting in higher occurences of rejection. Of course, surface bars or surface staples are designed to minimize rejection, but not totally eliminate it.

  4. i have not had any trouble with mine...i have been having a little trouble with my dermal

  5. So here is an example to better understand:

An eyebrow piercing, it is basically almost the same as a surface. But here is the reason why it stays..

On your brow the skin is elevated, all eyebrows are like this!..

As for a surface such as an anti eyebrow (under your eye) the skin is flat.

Over time your body is like.. HEY! this isn't supposed to be here!

And it starts to push it out. As for a regular eyebrow piercing, its perfectly ok because the skin is not flat.
