  1. Surfing is a REALLY great work out. Maybe you're not surfing enough. & if its bothering you so much. Just try working out a little more... do a 30 min run everyday, sit ups, push ups....

    Good Luck!

  2. I'm not skinny really

  3. Well....you're a surfer yourself aren't you? Anyway, if you're that worried about it I'd suggest working out at the gym, or just run a few km every morning. But surfing is really great for getting in shape, maybe try doing some other sports as well? Like swimming, running, biking. But there really isn't any need to compare yourself to others. You're cool the way you are. I personally don't work out, although I try to put different sports in my routine, of course, surfing comes up the most. Or try exercising at home, like do a few sit-ups and push-ups. Do as many as you can. But still don't take that much of a fuss, I have a lot of friends who're chubby, and they surf with me. Over time you'll probably get skinnier.

Well...all the very best to you!

  4. they work out and are good runners

  5. Im 15 too and I surf alot, and every time I go out, I paddle hard and work for every wave I get. If you keep on surfing after a while you'll eventually get strong upper body strength. working out 5 minutes a day even will start to show results. Im lazy all I do is surf and a 5 minute workout everyday with bench press and I stay in shape. volleyball is also a good work out, you use alot of the same shoulder muscles you do in surfing. Good luck

  6. You should be getting all the exercise you need surfing, especially if you're actually riding something- but...

Once a week or on the weekend isn't enough regular exercise, and you need to remember half the time you are actually resting in the water.  To get more "workout" out of your session you might need to get out more frequently and for a longer period.

  7. thay work out, surf 24/7, etc. and what do you do? Lie on your lazy @##!

  8. they're not, they're just fit!

  9. because most big surfer guys do there exersising at the beach when they surf witch burns of body fat and that is why htey are all skinny

  10. Like any athlete, they all work out, you have to be strong to manuever a surf board around, it also takes a lot of stamina to do it as well. Like we all should be doing, they get lots of exersize and eat smart.

  11. Because they have magical powers that keep them in shape.

    Just kidding.

Surfing is a form of exercise and it takes work and effort.  I'm assuming you just started surfing or haven't been doing it for a very long time?

  12. Well I am 14 but I surf and I am chubby too but surfing is supposed to be fun. Just exercise and eat healthier that's what I've been doing and I have lost weight. Just be yourself

  13. I'm 55 and fat, and I surf. Just get in shape dude. At your age, it sounds like you probably just need to do push aways.

  14. Try carving more it works out your abs  and paddle alot more to get arm muscle

  15. surfing burns calories dude. if you're in the water all day paddling and all, it's intense on the body.

  16. come here to hawaiis north shore... most of the locals of 250 pounds and are just as good or better than the skinny guys you refer to....  longboard guys.....

    i wouldnt worry about it

  17. not true  in fact the skinny ones are the only ones that die from drowning.   Fat floats

  18. HA, you haven't gone surfing with me, hahahahaha

young and skinny? Neither one, not in a lot of years, I just act like I'm young and skinny.

Don't worry about it, you are who you are, enjoy yourself and don't be concerned with how you look. Give it a couple of more years, things will change. If it's that big a deal just eat right, moderate exercise, light weight training never hurts. Just be careful, don't over do it, get some good hands-on advice.

  19. mal problem

  20. FIrst off I was fat a first, until i surfed 5 days a week and stayed in the water most of the days. You eat but only after you surf. You are burning a ton of calories out in the water sitting there becuse you body is working to stay warm. The longer your out in the water more calories burned. Less food you eat.

It also could be body style becuase Hawiins are bigger surfers.

  21. All you need to do is surf, it works out the entire body! The problem with some people is that they go surf then go straight to Crack in the Box and buy 2 double cheese burgers. What do you do in the water while waiting around for waves? Do you talk to your friends and let the waves pass you by or do you constantly paddle around for the next wave? Constant motion, don't just sit on your *** and wait for the next wave. Also, look at what you do outside of the water such as what you eat, drink and how much of it.

  22. i'm 17 and i only get to surf a few times a year because of where i live and i'm a little chubby, but i do run and work out regularly, my whole family is built larger and the way you're built is genetic...my advice would be to run and work out some and keep surfing...
