  1. I agree - it is solely to achieve targets.

As a former teacher in the UK who'd worked in 2 different schools, I was told many a time by the heads of my department after I submitted my students' results to "be nice". I was also given many chats about how the school had to uphold its' standards so they couldn't be seen with students having less than a certain level according to the National Curriculum and Offsted reports, even if the work they were submitting was below average!

So, I say 'former' teacher, because I left this ridiculous system and unfortunately no longer believe in the British educational system. I have a baby now and would rather put him in a private, American or International school in the UK than in a state school...

  2. Wen i was yung they nver markd like this.  I went to a pour schowl and got reely well.  I even got to Univesty and got a degrey.

It is not write to mark peeple down if they now what to say in his heed.

  3. Because they have to meet targets.

The comparison between those two pieces of work is laughable - one is well written and coherent and the other is just pathetic.

  4. Another Ed Balls up.

But it must be noted that "American contractor ETS" are responsible for the marking.

So spelling certainly won't be high on the list then!
