Why are teams in the west divisions so bad and the teams in the east so good?

AL West- 1 team above 500

NL West- 1 team above 500

NL East- 3 teams above 500

AL East- 4 teams above 500

    Last year the NL west was the strongest division producing 4 teams above .500 and the AL West had 2 teams above .500   the wild card team has come out of the NL West 3 times since 2002  (3 out of the last 6 years)     They are due to have a off season just like the rest.

    The NL East has produced 1 wildcard team since 2002.

    and it changes every year, next year 2 or 3 west teams may be above .500

  6. Just one of those things. In time the situation will be reversed.

    But when was the last time the Mets or Phillies won a World Series?


  9. What about the Central divisions, the White Sox and Twins are good teams in the AL and the Cubs and Brewers are top teams in the NL.  The Rays are too young to win the World Series just like the Tigers of 06.  We will see how it all shakes out.
