How come teenagers are getting jobs on the spot, like waitressing, etc., when adults are having trouble finding jobs and they REALLY need the money?

  1. The thing about teens is that any job will do, because we're only spending it on junk, adults need jobs that will pay the bills, and get their food and put gas in the car.

  2. I agree; it is based on age (teenagers don't mind what job they get and once they get the money they needed they leave the job--no loyalty) and not experience which comes with age--older person.  The only thing that an older person can do is try to get a job where his or her job skills are going to be valued; sadly, older people are not aware that their experience can help them become teachers; certain skills gives them credit and a few classes allows them to teach.

  3. Teens do anything to put money in the bank. Adults tend to have higher wants

  4. you can take advantage of a teenager

i have been guilty of this

you can pressure teens into working extra hours even when they don't want to. you can treat them casually and joke around etc.

in my experience, the people who want jobs for waittressing, delivering food for me, are people who aren't educated enough to get better jobs. And yet they are educated enough in every single aspect of their rights and union issues and wants to make a lawsuit out of everything. they want more breaks, less willing to take on other responsibilities etc.

  5. cuz they are willing to bag groceries..
