Why are teens these days self centered egomaniacs?

They carry mirrors with them everywhere they go, comment on themselves all the time and say stuff like "People wish they were me" and "If I could double myself I would fu*k myself"

Why are they like this?

  1. Oooh, such a wicked generalisation!

As it has always been, some teens are nice and some are not so nice. I don't think this is a recent development. Look at Kitty in Pride and Prejudice, she's a little beeyatch.

I think there has been a tendency for flagrant self-love in the media of late. They watch the antics of celebrity princesses and blinged-up rappers and think that's how life should be. Remember teenagers are trying to find themselves through the sticky hormonal horror-fest that is adolescence. As the guest on Jerry Springer and similar have shown us, one of the most popular ways to hide a flaming case of low self-esteem is to scream "I am all that!".

  2. well im a teen and iv never looked in the mirror and said *he looks like a good f.u.c.k* so eerrr.......go **** yourself you ignorant c**k sucking peice of **** **** basket.

  3. Because they are self absorbed, they are lazy have no ambition no concerns and no values or goals in life.

  4. Well I'm not like this...but maybe its because teens are naturally self-centered...people say this is usually the case. Maybe its because of all the things telling them they are the number one priority...

Whatever it is I hope that it ends when they grow up!

  5. Because for the last few generations, we've been rewarding mediocrity.

We're supposed to (as parents) tell our children that they are the best- even when they show no initiative.

We complain to teachers if our children are given grades that they deserved.

We hand out trophies to even the losing team/players.

We don't (and are not allowed to) discipline our children.

  6. Well the age of good role models have fainted. Most teens look up to women such as Carmen Electra, Paris Hilton and other bad role models.

Also, parents are not there to support those kids so they think that.

I on the other hand have seen FEW teens do that, I know A LOT of teens do that now a days, act like Ms conceited stupid skunkbag but I have not seen that many teens in my area do it. Come to think of it, I am sure teens were always like this, even back in the day teens acted a certain way.

  7. I'm a teen , I don't carry a mirror and I wouldn't s***w myself  however I know the people your talking about and it sure is annoying , I suppose it has something to do with the fact that it doesn't matter if you einstein  if your ugly then people don't care about what you have to say . But like I said earlier  I'm not one of those, if it makes you feel better I understand that no one , no matter how talented , beautiful  or rich  is better than anyone else  and that tradition values like respect and kindness are much more desirable qualities than snobbery and vanity .

  8. im a teen, i have seen this pattern too because theyre parents dont teach them any morals, and look at the music these days, its all about the individual

  9. Because they want to feel good about themselves because they need to get real friends who treat them properly.  Their minds are screwed up because of what's going on these days, "how great s*x is", crime, peer pressure, drugs, all that c**p.  They need someone to show them what they really shouldn't do and should do...
