Any other sport where people could hurt themselves they don't need silence but these 2 sports they want complete quiet just to hit a ball tell me what kind of sense that makes?

  1. They need power to hit the ball

So they make funny noises haha.

  2. It is the availability. People who go to become spectators in tennis and golf are richer and therefor more educated and civilized than spectotors of other sports. Tennis and golf players have got better spectator ship for years so not they take it for granted.

    It is the elitist mentality.

  3. I know in bowling the audience is usually quiet, although you can hear a pin drop.  (Oay, that's not the best joke).  Anyway, more of the "rich" and "famous" love to play with smaller balls so they need to concentrate more.  I would love to see a golf match played like "Happy Gilmore"; that would be worth going to.

  4. They are spoiled.
