Wouldn't it make things a lot easier on both sides of the Channel ? Just think of trade, travel, holidays, etc.

  1. Because we don't want the Euro,

Why do you want us to have the Euro?

  2. its not so much losing the currency in the pocket but the fact that we dont want to lose the baility to control the currency at a state fiscal level.  Being able to set interest rates and amount in circulation is important to keep the economy going.

I agree if we had all the same notes it would help out no end.

  3. There is a lot more to it than just calling our currency by another name.

Introducing the Euro would mean that unelected foreigners would CONTROL how we spend our money.  He who holds the purse strings holds the power.

I think I am going to scream if another person wants to adopt the Euro because then they wouldn't have to visit the Bureau de Change before going on holiday. There really is a lot more to it than just that.  I urge you to find out about it.

Reference your remark about Mark being a strong currency - exactly!  Look at what a state Germany has been in since it adopted the Euro.  I have spoken to French, German and Spanish people since they adopted the Euro and they all hated it.  Prices had risen hugely.

And all those idiots who think I don't want the Euro simply because it wouldn't have the Queen's picture on - for goodness sake.  You frighten me.  If we change to the Euro we would give away control of our finances. It's got nothing to do with the picture of the Queen.

  4. I think it's because:

    a) It's tradition - because we have a queen, so she has to appear on our money. I suppose British pride has something to do with it too.

    b) It's been like that for too long - people are too used to it now. Plus the elderly might not be able to handle a new currency.

    c) The pound is stronger than the euro, so if we were to begin converting our money we'd lose some.

Personally, I'd like the Euro. It'd make things easier to travel across Europe, and would improve relationships between countries.

  5. im british, and it isn't all british that's just being biased.

  6. because then the queen wouldnt be able to be printed on the money.

  7. the euro is ugly looking money

  8. Cause they want to stay the King of Europe

What sources do they still have that there currency is still higher than all other countrys

  9. i'm british first and foremost, stuff the euro and stuff europe......what a con.

  10. The euro would just be another excuse for inflation busting price rises like we had at decimilisation. People are not that stupid!

  11. do you really think that the british are opposed? i dont, i think its riled up by the press, i dont think british people care one way or another, remember the great british public's greatest skill is apathy

  12. Because in England we are used to the pound we dont want to change it! Changing currency is confusing it can take ages to get used to. I live in England I would hate if they changed the currency all the stores would rip us off as we wouldnt know what was cheap or expensive.
