Question:

Why are the Cubs not rallying around Harden the way the Brewers are with Sabathia?

I know C.C has pitched better, but Rich hasn't pitched bad. Why is it that C.C is making a bigger impact on his team and Rich has his team stealing wins from him?

The trade instead of motivating the team seems to be taking away from them....

  1. Because the Cubs since the All Star Break are the Worst Team in baseball. Not only the team can not score runs, the starting pitching and especially the bullpen is starting to lose their confidence. When you cant score runs, you cant win ballgames.

I want the Cubs to win the World Series, but I'm beginning to think that no matter what we do or who we get, its pointless.

  2. Because the Brewers have a fun clubhouse that thrives on rallying around new people. The Cubs have a Lou Pinella "my way" clubbhouse with little fun times.

  3. CC is a work horse, he has completed 3 out of the 4 games he started for the Brewers. Rich hasn't gone past 7 innings yet.

The problem is the Cubs offense, they need to score some runs to keep their starters in the game longer. They are putting added pressure on their bullpen which will hurt them down the stretch.

  4. because C.C. is a legit ACE, where Harden is closing in on DL time.

  5. harden has gotten no run support and the bullpen is just blowing his leads...i don't know that the team isn't rallying around him or anything, but it's only two starts

sabathia, on the other hand, has finished the games he's started creating no need for any bullpen help, and has gotten enough run support to win the games

remember, it's only two starts, or three in sabathia's case...things could easily turn around

  6. because c.c. is a beast

  7. Because Sabathia stays in the game longer. Harden is a 5-6 inning pitcher - so he leaves the game in the bullpens hands. Sabathia on the other hand has had 3 games in a row lasting all 9 innings.

  8. harden has had two strong outings but hasnt gotten run support he is still doing really good and will make a big impact for the cubs

  9. The Cubs have gotten into a slump lately they just gotta get outta it.

  10. It all comes with offense. You can have good pitching but if you're not scoring runs you're still not going to win most of the time.

In Harden's starts they scored 7(the bullpen blew a 5 run lead though), then 0 when they mustered two hits and then 2 today.

So in his defense, he should be at least 1-2. But luckily he didn't get the loss in any of them either because he definitely doesn't deserve it.

  11. Because Sabathia is getting run support unlike Rich Harden.  In MLB averaging 2 runs a game isn't going to cut it.  The brewers have been able to give Sabathia enough runs to work with.
