Question:

Why are the Green Bay fans so upset now?

Favre left the team way back in March - he's still off the team and the team now has an extra draft pick next year to show for it.

On the other hand, Favre still has no idea whether he really wants to play or what he's going to do next year - or how his actions affect the rest of his team.

This article, from before the 2003 season should shed some light on how Brett's antics messed with the team's plans (and head) for years.

  1. i think what packer fans think of A. rogers  it pretty much summed up in this quote by a seven year old boy at the packers training camp.

"aaron we don't love you you suck"

but to anwser your qustion packer fans are just afraid pf the unknown

  2. cause they're crybabies and can't get over it, deal with it, you can't do anything about it just move on

do you remember the reaction from fans when Elvis died? they were crying and sobbing all over but they moved on and the world is still revolving, your gonna have to deal with it

  3. You want to know why the fans are upset?  I'll give you two reasons.  The first reason, is because many feel that Favre is a traitor for wanting out of GB and for going to the Jets.  Many felt as though Brett Favre was committed to the franchise and many were hoping he would retire as a Packer.  However that didn't happen.  The second reason is because now many fans are aware of the inexperience they now have at the QB position.  Right now it is unknown as to what Rodgers can do esspecially if he has not started a full season.  So he is an unknown.  Also if he does poorly they still don't have a veteran QB with experience.  The Packers have two other QB's who were drafted out of college, and have never started a game.  So the expereience is pretty thin for the Packers.  And now, they also missed another chance because Chad Pennington who is a veteran is now with the dolphins.  So the Packers have to make some choices at the QB position.  There are veterans out there, but good veterans are hard to find, and I think many fans are frustrated that their season may be in danger to so much inexperience at QB..

  4. IDK.  He retired & the Packers were supposed to move on & they accepted Rodgers as their future & now many are booing him since Brett came out of retirement & even if Brett would have stay an active player, the Packers weren't going to the Super Bowl & as great of a QB Brett is, he only won one Super Bowl.

  5. I'm not upset and I'm a Green Bay fan. He needed to go.

  6. We always fear the unknown and A-Rodg is definitely an unknown.  If he does well, everyone will forget about the tumultuos off-season that was propogated by Favre.  If he stinks up the place, look out!  The Packer faithful will be coming out of the woodworks for A-Rodg's head on a platter!  I wish him the best and hope this all is forgotten soon.

  7. I agree. Before making assumptions, at least watch the kid play a full game. I too think he will be a huge player in Pack history. I can feel it.

But I must say, there was a lot of lying from the Packers and Favre in the whole saga. I was pissed off about that but satisfied in the end.

  8. I went through this - watching things unfold - in Cleveland, when Bernie Kosar was released by the Browns during the season....months after signing what was publicized as a "lifetime" contract with the team. There is an element of fandom which feels as if they are that player and whatever was done by a team is personal. It isn't Rodgers fault, but he is going to suffer the abuse from those looking at history, not the future.

  9. Wouldnt you be upset if ted thompson was your gm?

  10. aaron rodgers is a bust, thats why, and brett favre was a pro bowler last year, and aaron rodgers has never proven himself, he wasnt even that good in college

  11. He will not want to play after this year. It won't be the same for him in NY as it was in GB. It was the familiarity that brought him back, not the game. He will realize that, and decide that it really is time.

  12. I've always been a big Packers fan.  For the most part, I think Packers fans realized that the team needed to move on.  The team got stuck in a bad position right before the season is about to begin.  People were starting to get sick of the retiring antics.

But at the same time, Favre is a legend and throughout is career, he's been a classy, down-to-earth guy! He's by far one of the most exciting players to watch.  So, it just sort of hurts to watch him playing on another team after being with the Packers for 16yrs and having one of the best seasons of his life last year.

  13. Why? They're irrational, otherwise they wouldn't be packer fans.

  14. Favre should have joined the Bears.  That would have really pissed off Packer fans.

  15. If Rodgers want some love ....WIN AND A LOT!!!

  16. Most aren't. Just the ones who have put too much emotion in this Favre thing. They forget, Favre led the Packers to a 4-12 year. He's only as good as the team around him.
