  1. Because black is cost effective.


  2. Like the poster above me stated, most of the black ones you see are actually tobacco barns.  The black makes the barn hotter, thereby drying the tobacco more effectively.

    Most of the actual horse barns are painted either in the stable colors, or white, or some of the super ristzy ones are even brick.

  3. The Stones were on while they were being built, just my theory.  One of the posters above pegged it though, and most of them are not black.

  5. they aren't all black. the tobacco barns are black. horse barns are often white.
