  1. As usual, historical fighting over land and power and religion.


  2. they don't like each other.

  3. They have historically been enemies for a very long time.  The Kurds believe part of the land now help by Turkey belongs to them.  They have continued border skirmishes.  Obviously Turkey holds the bigger hammer, but the Kurds made huge progress by backing the Iraqi conflict on the side of the "Coalition".

  4. Religion, politics, and land claims.

    The Kurds want their own country.
