  1. lol, I found that most of the older generation is that way, but if you talk to the younger generations, or the middle aged generations, they are actually pretty freindly, there are some exceptions though.

  2. THEY PROBBLY  DONT LIKE

    UGLY FAT AMERICANS LIKE U:)

    LOL

HUH  DID U  SEE THE BLONDY CHIKS:) LOVE EM

  3. They arent at all. They're pretty friendly and nice. Germany fits uptight more but they arent all unpleasant.

  4. They're not.

  5. My wife is Swiss... And uptight (and unpleasant)... But after a while it kind of grows on you- in a strange sort of domineering way.

They are better than us you know...

  6. I have found the Swiss to be a little uptight at first. However they are also very honest and sincere people. If you lucky enough to befriend a Swiss. You may well have a friend for life.

  7. The Swiss I have encountered during my travels were awesome. I have lasting friendships with 2 of them.1 I had a week long affair with and then met up with him again a few months later and picked up where we left off. I just emailed him today as a matter of fact. I have never been to Switzerland so can't give my opinion on Swiss at home. Just the ones that are out travelling I can say are great people.

  8. You would be uptight if you had holes all in you too.

  9. You must have pissed them off !!!!

  10. Most ARE uptight, not all are unpleasant...

They're used to rules and schedules and having to follow them. (Some complicated schedules I have to deal with include: signing up to use the laundry room (shared with 7 other families--still better than it used to be when most people were assigned a time--this still does happen some places); my children's school schedule (getting better also, when my now-10yo was in first grade she had a different start and end time (including different lunch hours) every day of the week--now she has two start times and one end time, and only two afternoons off); recycling days, etc. I have the commuter train schedule memorized, that's pretty standard here.) Rules can include enforced quiet times (there's  a park near me that closes for lunch; some apartment buildings don't allow flushing after 10pm) and days off (very few shops and relatively few restaurants are open on Sunday), etc.

Anyway, I'm not sure if the unpleasantness comes from the stress of having to follow these rules or from an annoyance when other people don't. There are fines for everything from parking in front of your own building (those spots are for visitors, you have your own spot) to throwing a carton in the public trash cans (cardboard is recyclable).

  11. I am not Swiss but I lived there for awhile and I loved the culture, the food, the country, the way of life.  I found them to be very caring and genuinely nice people.  Switzerland is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and I would love to go back.

  12. I am afraid I have to disagree with the offensive way the Swiss are described in the question.

The Swiss are very friendly, upright, honest and helpful.  I like their airline -  Swiss International and their staff at airports and the cabin crew.  The Swiss I have come across casually during my stay in Zurich and while they travel in India have impressed me as great people.

If I get another chance to go abroad I would prefer Swiss Airline and visit Switzerland on the way.  Though the people are very friendly the climate is too cold except in Summer and the place is so expensive that beyond short stay is not feasible.

  13. It is probably their culture and upbringing.

Or they have to hurry to be on time!

I was really amazed by the fact that you can really set your clock according to the train timetable.

It is a shame because they live in such a beautiful country.

They may be afraid that tourists will trash the country or stay!!

  14. are all of them?

    really?

    c'mon..

  15. Genetics, they are spoiled Germans.
