Why are the United States Marines upset over the orders to stay longer in war?

WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has ordered roughly 1,250 Marines serving as trainers for the Afghan security forces to stay on the warfront almost a month longer to continue a mission that military leaders say is a top priority, according to a senior military official.

  1. I can always tell your questions even before i see your name.

    For once, I agree with you, Marines only do 6 month tours, they can stay an extra month like us in the Army who do 12 to 15 months.  That is about the only time i will ever agree with you, but i am sure your point to the question was different than the point of my answer.

    and to the person above me, marines deploy more often than army units, so it makes up for the low amount of time they stay over.
