Why are the Yankees so overrated?

Because they haven't been able to win a WS ever since the crackdown on steroids.

It's mainly because of their past history. A lot of people on here don't seem to be able to comprehend that the past is the past and it means nothing in the present.  It also has to do a lot with the fact that the Yankees constantly trot a billion dollar team onto the field every year.

Because they have the highest payroll and play in the largest market.  Until there is a salary cap in baseball, the playing field won't be level for all teams and the Yankees and other big market teams will have a distinct advantage over the smaller market teams.

U think they overrated when they won 26 world titles. made the playoffs 14 straight times

it is because of there big names on the team the only thing with the yankees they love to spend money but they dont do it wisely i am a red sox fan and i am nervous about the rays i wanna win the division but i will settle for wild card...... wait wait wait did i just say rays might win the division and red sox will get wild card wow this is a crazy season

The Rays are a fraud.  They have never been through the heat of a Pennant race, and looked awful last month when the pressure began.  They will dissolve.  The Red Sox, if they even were better than the Yanks, aren't anymore.  The Yankees will win Title 27.
