Why are the b12 injection needles so long?

Is it to get through peoples fat skin? If you are skinnier can you use a smaller needle?

  2. B12 injections are usually administered to patients that are suffering from deficiency of the vitamin B12. It is an intramuscular injection so it has to be administered with a big needle. The needle has to be long as well as thicker than usual gauge.

  3. B-12 injections are usually only given once a month. They are given intramuscular for this reason. So you need a longer needle. You can give B-12 in a needle as small as a 25 Gage, because it is not very viscous.
