I hate when the restrooms are in the smoking section because people that dont like breathing smoke have to walk through it just to use the bathroom. Why are they usually located in the smoking section and not in the non smoking section?

  1. You're right, but I never noticed that.  Could it be that the smoking section is closer to the bar and that also happens to be where they put the bathrooms?

  2. Well, I live in a non-smoking state. But the state I used to live in (before that one went smoke free) I noticed that too!! It was so annoying. i would just wait until I left the restaurant and would go someplace else.

  3. Because this way the smokers don't bring all their smoke with them into the non-smoking section of the restaurant.  In this way only those non-smokers who need to use the restroom are affected, instead of all non-smokers.

Of course, living in a town that is smoke free - I don't have to deal with it anymore!!

  4. Most bathrooms are located next to the bar area of the restaurant so the tipsy people don't have to walk as far to get to the bathroom. And it just so happens that most restaurants make their bar/lounge area their smoking section so they are always right next to each other.
