Home Pregnancy Tests I mean, why is it so many people say not to use the blue dye ones? and to use digital or pink ones? is there something wrong with the blue ones, are they prone to false results or something?

Just asking as my previous question, I stated I just got a faint but definitely there HPT, but suspect I am only 6dpo and tested at 1:30pm, but didn't say what colour, and a few people said to re test and NOT to use the blue dye ones. why is that?

as it is I didn't use the blue dye one, the colour is purplish/pink.

So yeah just wondering what is the problem with the blue dye ones?

  1. When I've used the blue dye ones and my result was positive I never got an actual plus sign (I used the clearblue).  I did 4 tests (2 - 2 packs) I got either a vertical OR a horizontal line, the top OR bottom half of a plus sign, it was just VERY unclear.  I went out and got a first response and there it was, clear as ever, one solid pink line!  I used the internet pregnancy tests as well and I know the color your talking about.  I see no problems with them as they also give you a line, nothing confusing like a plus sign.  It's just if you wish to follow up and confirm your internet cheapie test with a brand name, I recommend anything with pinky dye that gives you a line, no plus signs!!  Personal preference!

  2. I think it's something with how the dye reacts to the urine or something like that. I know that with the ClearBlue plus/minus tests as soon as the test area gets wet a very, very thin vertical line appears...then it disappears by the time mark that you're supposed to look at it. I got super excited about that, thinking it was a faint positive...too faint to stay or something. But I had looked it up online and it said ClearBlue tests do that, and if it vanishes by the read time, to consider it a negative.

  3. I think its just harder to distinguish the evaporation lines on the blue ones
