First they turned yellow & then they turn brown. Will this make the plant die too?

  1. i always thought they were supposed to do that, and then regrow and the old ones die off??

dont take my advice, i killed a cactus, RIP.

  2. Too much water, pick the brown ones off and turn the soil around the stem give less water in AM and PM.

  3. There could be so many reasons.   Too much water, or not enough water with too much sun.  (I'm sure there's virus and stuff too)

I had a catnip plant turn brown because of being overwatered.

My tomato plants leaves were starting to turn brown because of too much sun and not enough water.

If the soil is try, try watering it on a daily basis and see if it perks up.    If you think you might be overwatering it... stop.

  4. As your plant ripens energy from the lower leaves is used for the fruit  The upper leaves that are nearer the sun shade all below.  The lower leaves have done their job and die.  Keep you eye open for tomato eating insects, however.

  5. No, thats what happens. Its sitting closest to and on the ground so its getting a lot of moisture which inturn kills it...its normal and dont worry about it.

  6. Oh that's nothing to worry about it is common for tomato plant bottoms to do so, I really don't know how but it's normal for t to happen so ya. it could be that the bottom was getting more water since it is on the bottom and water may splash alot onto the leaves.

All the time this happens but my tomato's never die just the leaves. =()
