  1. Chinese are so good because they start training their kids by age three.

Russian athletes are not as good as they used to be when they played for the Soviet Union and doped up on 'roids, opening up the opportunity for the other big Communist country to edge out to first place.  Remember when the Olympics were always about Russian VS the US?  Not anymore.

All that aside, I've enjoyed the Chinese athletes.  They show so much determination in everything they do.

  2. Only the diving. Swimming they got like 2nd place. I think they're good at diving cause they're very skinny. So, when they land it the water, it doesn't really splash. But the swimming, Michael Phelps always gets the god medals. Hope I helped.

    Answer this everyone!!!

  3. because they start at a VERY young age...and they get pushed by there parents and coaches A LOT!!! im serious that really is they reason...they just cant fail

  4. The Chinese government picks children at the age of 2 and put them into training camps where they train for their picked sport every day a week for years, while the Americans can choose to be involved in a sport, and choose to make themselves better.

  5. They're doing well, it probably has alot to do with the olympics being held in Bejing.  The home field advantage and all that.  They're definitely exceeding their usual medal count.  But don't get it mixed, the U.S. is still and will always be the big dog in the olympics.  Do a search on all time medal counts and you'll see.  The U.S. has over 2100 medals in 24 summer games.  China has 285 in 7 games.  It's not even close.  The U.S. has over double the number of gold, silver and bronze medals of any other country.

  6. Why am I seeing that some response is just for gymnastics?

I'm sure those who answer the "trained at 3-year old" is for shooting or weightlifting or fencing; right? God some of the sickening ignorant on the face of this planet.

The correct reason is that the CCP has money and is willing to pay coaches...great coaches that can strengthen the athletes to win medals.

  7. Well, it is the most populated nation on the planet to begin with. So you have the odds in your favour. Also, the Chinese team is subsidized by their government. Believe it or not, the United States is only the 3rd most populated nation, after China and India. Now get ready for school in a few weeks!

  8. They start at a young age and train year round. They were training 7 days a week for the last 4 years for these games. In China the families get bonus money when a family member wins a medal. Serious business over there

  9. Simply, in a communist state these individuals are selected at a very early age to be athletes. From that point on their training is everything. The school they attend will be a training school for that sport and when they reach adulthood their job will be training for their sport. It is very effective; just look at what the Soviets accomplished during their height.
