Why are the demorats so concerned about Palin's husband's DUI 22 years ago?

When the demorats' hero (as shown in the tribute to him at their convention), Ted Kennedy, was driving drunk when his car and fellow passenger went of the road into the water, killing the passenger 2 hours after the wreck because Kennedy didn't send help after he escaped?

Someone please answer this one for me.

  1. They are SCARED! They are digging for anything and everything. Todd Palin had a few too many beers one night when he was a very young man? Give me a break! Keep in mind that this is happened around the same time that Obama admitted to experimenting with cocaine. You don't hear the left-wing mob talking about that though!

  2. I don't care for Palin, but going back 22 yrs is worthless.  Media is looking for stories now.

Why did Kennedy buy a boat with a glass floor?

So he could see his car collection!

    Ha!

  3. 1. Nobody's talking about Palin's husband except you. Just like nobody is talking about Palin's daughter's pregnancy except Republicans when they claim that Democrats are making an issue of it.

    2. You are dredging up Ted Kennedy's car 40 years later to hurl against Obama's candidacy? The GOP is really grasping at straws at this point. You people know nothing except mud slinging.

  4. To be completely honest, I personally don't care about that at all.  It just comes as a shock to me (sort of, i'll explain in a second) that the GOP would choose someone that clearly didn't seem to fit into the 'all american values' and 'moral' ethics platform that Sen. McCain was pitching in the primaries.  I understand that nobody is perfect, and that's cool.  This, however, comes in the aftermath of what the Republican party tried to do to the Obama camp during the Primary race.

With that being said, however, I still think that the media and everybody should not judge her on her family background, and rather on her ability to be a successfull VP.  The Obama camp has stated this many times, and that's what needs to happen; not because Obama said so, but because that's the right thing to do.  As far as me explaining what I said earlier about not really being shocked by the choice of Palin, i'm not.  It's a tactic; a ploy in order to get voters and win the election.  I don't feel like Sen. McCain picked Palin because of her ability to be a great VP, or on the basis that she could lead the country in his absence.  He picked her because of her background story, and how she could appeal to the swing voters and the Hilary followers who will not vote for Obama.  He also picked her because she will appeal to the conservatives who are against abortion, because she chose to have a child who was going to have downsyndrome.  These are not problems, her back story and all, but the fact that it's the only reason McCain picked her; to use her to win.  That's all McCain seems to be after is winning; winning the election, winning the war, winning winning winning.  He sounds alot like Bush.  I want someone in the White House that I feel like I can trust.  You may love Obama or hate him, but you feel the way you do because of who he is; he consistent with it at least.  John McCain flip flops.  The GOP flip flops, swaying to whichever way seems like a means to their end.  That's not cool at all.

I'm a die hard democrat, and I sincerely hope that the media doesn't do what they tried to do to Obama to Palin.  It was wrong then, and it's wrong now.

    P.S.

...and why are you even bring up Ted Kennedy anyway?!?  Seems like you're trying to justify the inconsistancy of the republican stance by drawing comparison to Ted Kennedy.  We, the democrats, were not the ones who had a problem with Ted Kennedy or people like Palin, it was the republicans.  That's our problem.  That's why we are being critical; not necessarily of her, but of the fact that republicans didn't stand for those kind of things early on, and now they do?!?  C'mon.

  5. I don't give a flip about Mr. Palin's DUI 22 years ago.

*That's hilarious that Julie H thinks it's the media that put the girl's pregnancy out there.  Yes, they were the vehicle for the info, but her mom chose to disclose that information.  If you actually think McCain will win, don't you think it would come out eventually that the girl was pregnant &/or had a baby?

  6. Ted Kennedy isn't running for president, whatever issues he has is between him and the voters of Massachusetts.

But actually I agree that it isn't very relevant compared to her complete lack of experience, investigation for abuse of power and nutty Conservative Christian beliefs. If none of that will prevent you from voting for Palin, I'm pretty sure her husbands driving record won't matter either.

On the other hand, you mentioning this is the first I heard of it, so I can't really say Democrats can be making too big deal out of this in the first place.

  7. You can't get a response from the Democrats - or ANY Democrat - about Ted Kennedy's behavior at Chappaquiddick.  They won't answer you when you ask why he was never prosecuted for manslaughter at the very least.  His first wife was an alcoholic, and there have been several of them in the Kennedy family, but Democrats won't give you a straight answer on Kennedy family DUI charges and the times that those charges just .... disappeared.  They won't answer you when you ask why they weren't concerned when Al Gore's son was arrested for driving drunk and high.

Somehow it is Sarah Palin's fault that her husband made the stupid mistake of driving drunk.  I guess they think she is supposed to "control" him, too?

  8. Apparently its ok to take your kids to a racist church..and its ok to be a member yourself for 20 years..but take one night that happened 22 years ago..and hey..to some liberals thats a different story..I bet none of them or thier friends ever drove thier cars after drinking when  they were young..

  9. I don't know why DEMO-rats care I as a Democrat don't give a dam, I do care about her stance on  Foreign policy issues, domestic issue and the economy, Alas none of those questions have been answered.

  10. One is fact, one is speculation

  11. Because they are trying to dig up as much c**p as possible . Its pretty bad that they that have to go back 20 yrs . As far as Ted I was wondering the same thing - BUT he is a " Kennedy " and can do no wrong  .

  12. Typical liberal democrat c**p....

Do as they say... not as they do.

You shall be scutinized, but don't look at the man behind the curtain.

  13. The Democrats are looking for anything they can find on the Palins. How funny that the worst thing they can find is a DUI 22 years ago. Wow, what a squeaky clean family! The Democrats are desperate now and can smell defeat again. Just listen to the left wing liberal bias media on TV, they are going wild and only getting McCain-Palin more votes! How terrible to publicize that Bristol is pregnant. That is going to backfire on the media. Stay tuned.

  14. The democrats won't focus on issues because they know they will lose.

  15. I am not concerned at all heck it was 22 years ago. On the other hand why are you posting this c**p it is irrelevant and does not merit the time nor is it of any value to keep bringing it up over and over again unless you are a lib stoking the flames.

  16. It simply shows a lack of judgement on McCain's part.  How dare he choose someone married to someone who made a mistake two decades ago?  Clearly, it means that McCain is the same as Bush.

  17. Blasphemer -

Believe in Obama and you will be saved -

Vote against him and you shall be condemned.

  18. You are the first person I have heard mention that.  I didn't know it and don't care.  I DO care about his position with BP and how sleeping with an oil executive is going to help Palin be a good VP

  19. As far as I can tell, they are not concerned about that at all.  It came up as a fact concerning Palin's family, but no one gives any big importance to it that I've seen.

  20. because they are desperate, McCain and Palin are a winning combination and they have no other place to go but to the gutter.

Wait, maybe they go there because it feels like home to them.

and please she actually has more experiance then Oboma who is running for top job.
