    It is a unique ecological environment.

    I think that was when he began to ponder his theory of evolution.

  5. Galapagos Islands are fanous for manyr easons. historically, place where charles darwin thought about the evolutionary theory (is that the sp??) Second, its home to amazin species you will not find anyhwre else. Penguins (yes, in the equator!..nos snow around!) Iguanas that can swim, and of course, the huge turtles that give the islnds their name. The Glapagos (they can grow as big as 122 cm (4 feet) and weight of 227 kg (500 lb) and live many many years!) . Its an amazing place...but not the only beutiful destination to visit in Ecuador...
