Why are the leafy plants in my yard turning white?

By "leafy plants" I mean dandelion, wide-leaf plantain, parsely, lemon balm, red clover, stuff like that. Yeah, mostly weeds, but some of them are herbs that my family intentionally cultivates. But everything has white speckles on it, and I recently saw a dandelion leaf that was almost COMPLETELY white! It almost looks like they've been bleached, but it's shady in my yard for most of the day. Also, the dandelion leaf I mentioned is covered by shade the entire day; I found it under a pine tree. So I don't think they've been bleached by the sun...but what could it be?

There are no chemicles on the lawn, and they aren't dehydrated.

The white spots penetrate through the leaves; it's not just on the surface. And they aren't fuzzy.

It's not affecting the grass, or any of the trees. Only herbs/weeds like the plants mentioned above.

  1. One possibility is that you have Radioactive Man as a peeping tom, and he is leaking his radioactive goo onto your plants.. You should get some flood lights to illuminate your yard so that he can't hide near your plants anymore...

  2. its a disease of some sort

  3. yes, they are little, white bugs, that suck out the nutrients in the leaves, if you shake the leaves or scrape them off, they start flying in the air, in search for another leaf!

    Hope that Helps!
