The left front and rear speakers do not make any sound. Only the left front tweeter makes any noise. This was true with the factory stereo system, as well with the new CD player I just put in.

  1. more then likely the speakers are blown.  wires don't go "bad" like that in a car unless exposure to moisture, and for that to happen the pvc sleeve on the wires had to be exposed (all the wires exposed at once? ) for the copper wiring to corrode.

either that they were wired in wrong at some point.

left front speaker wires grey (-) tan(+) * note there is also a grey wire in that bundle that is for the dimmer light

right left  yellow (+) brown (-)

    hope this helps.

  2. Because it's old.  The wires are probably not connected correctly any more.

Either that or the speakers have blown out.  A 15 year old stereo system is bound to break.

  3. I would say the wires have come loose due to being 15 years old.  Try looking at the wires on the back of your stereo and the wires on your speakers.    Also if your speakers make a like crackling noise they may be blown.

  4. I would find it hard to believe that both front speakers are blown at the same time, I would find easier to believe that the front channel of your stereo is blown. Doubt the loose connection theory too. Unless you have the fronts amplified from a separate amp, I sincerely doubt you get nothing out of them unless the front channel is fried...
