  1. im sorry dude but why the h**l would you even ask that  1 it would promote any ganster drunk idiot to go out there and street race 2 nascar is a southern based sport we already have a race in new york( unfortunalty) and 3 it would be dangerous consider that ok

  2. Give the guy a break and NASCAR is not just a southern sport theirs a lot of fans from the north

  3. too much debris, there would be a caution every block

  4. Well at least you are finally not asking a question of why Nascar is ruining the environment. So I give you props for thinking of a different type of question.

I think it would be too much of a logistical nightmare to shut down half of NYC for a race.

  5. I agree, it would be fun to see people get ran over by 900 horsepower machines. lol

  6. Maybe you should send NASCAR your address and they could schedule a race in your neighborhood and down your street.  Oh, and make sure you are playing in the street when the cars come by!

  7. Actually I think the first Daytona Beach races were raced partly on the beach and partly through the city streets. One thing that is a major concern is safety.

Look at these links and you'll see what can happen if they race in areas not designed for racing.

  8. The locals are too slow.

  9. These cars, albeit very agile, aren't as agile as Indy cars, so I don't think the excitement would be there, plus, the schedule's already flooded.

  10. It is a city...there are lots of other automobiles, people crossing the streets...want me to go on?

  11. I think in the video games they do race through the streets of NY but not in Nascar reality. That would not make any sense.  Do you know the insurance NY would have to have to pull something like that?  Liability? Wow Bloomberg--would be the laughing stock (pun intended)

In addition, Nascar would not do either because of the unsafeness of it (pedestrians, etc.) Liability?  Insurance?--for Nascar.

Furthermore, there is a noise ordinance in NY.  NY is made of large, tall buildings which if a Nascar ran thorough the streets would cause the sound to amplify 2X as much, so that is another reason why it would not work out.

  12. I was there this past weekend and to tell you the truth the streets are too rough for any type of road racing. I was glad to hear the people of Staten Island didn't want a race track. In doing so it most likely saved racing at Watkins Glen.
