Question:

Why are the "resolved" questions about Bruce Lee nearly retarded?

Let me clear stuff up since I am not allowed to answer closed questions. Bruce Lee trained the top martial artists at the time winning all the tournaments , Norris, Mike Stone, Joe Louis, etc and he threated them like children they knew nothing compared to him. In Jackie Chan's book "Who Am I" he says the best fighter in his group was Samo Hun then Jackie and Jackie said Bruce Lee would beat either of them. Benny the Jet said a fight with Jackie would be interesting around even and he was 63 and 0 beating champs around thw world. But a step below Bruce Lee. Bruce would not have a problem with grapplers in a street fight because an easy way out of the gaurd is to punch them in the balls and a way out of any choke or hold is to just bite the guys arm and thats in his books. And he could hit from an inch away. Pound for Pound in the UFC if guys fought Bruce Lee they would actually die. The closest kicker to Lee is Chun Li who broke Shammrocks arm. No one kicks\punches like Lee did

  1. To be honest, I never have actually seen any hard evidence that Bruce Lee defaeted Chuck Norris. The most I heard was that Chuck met him and considered him superior. Maybe that's enough for fans but not for skeptics. It's the same for Joe Lewis. In fact I found an interview of him that spefically said that they never sparred:

    You then make several appeals to authority which is a logical fallacy, referring to Jackie Chan and Benny the Jet;

You then make unfalsifiable claims which are unconvincing. "Bruce would not have a problem with grapplers in a street fight because an easy way out of the gaurd is to punch them in the balls and a way out of any choke or hold is to just bite the guys arm and thats in his books. And he could hit from an inch away. Pound for Pound in the UFC if guys fought Bruce Lee they would actually die. The closest kicker to Lee is Chun Li who broke Shammrocks arm. 2. So what is the point here? I see no question asked. What I see is a rant about a person that was dead before most of those posting about him were around.  Bruce Lee was a great martial artist. However, he was not the source of all knowledge.  And he certainly was not God.  To keep up this myth that he was and is the best thing ever as a martial artist is silly.  Just go train!

  3. What exactly is it that makes Frank Shamrock a fraud as a martial artist?  Besides your own bigoted attitude, I mean.  You're hardly the first person to come on Yahoo with a vicious prejudice towards any fighting style to come from the west.

Btw, Chun Li is from the video game "Streetfighter 2" I think you mean Cung Li.  (Again the racist prejudice against western combat styles.)

UFC fighters are bound by rules while in the ring.  Outside the ring, on the street, there's nothing stopping them from using the same "dirty" tricks, from using a knife, from using a gun.

I'm feeling particularly argumentative, so let's just throw out ALL the rules.  Let's put Bruce Lee against Vasily Zaytsev, the Russian sniper featured in "Enemy at the Gates".  He was also a master at his craft, now who's going to win that encounter?

Listening to some people go on about Bruce Lee (and I do respect him and what he did for martial arts) is like listening to religious fanatics.  You can't tell them anything and you risk them blowing up in your face.

  4. I tend to agree with you about some of your points, however, the most important thing about Bruce Lee and his fighting style was that he adapted it to himself, he spent his whole life as an instrument of martial arts and even if a UFC type guy beat him today Bruce Lee would have dedicated his life to finding a way to be the best again...no one then or now has his dedication....he forgo his family and friends to perfect himself, now people train for the next fight.

  5. Once again I have to agree with Phil j. I realize that nothing I say will make a difference, because you are one of these people who believe that Bruce Lee was a god, and are willing to believe any stiry associated with him.

Bruce Lee did not fight in tournements. Bruce Lee never fought in any professionel matches that can be proven. I know there is a section in Wikipedia that lists a bunch, but none of them are verifiable though any official source, or no resources as to where they came from are listed.

Bruce Lee was a good martial artist, and he was in excellent physical shape, but come on reality check time. At least the guy's in the UFC have actual permenant records that are verifiable, not just stories that people nmade up. Yeah I know Bruce had many street fights. Guess what? People make up stories to be able to impress people.

The fact is that there have been, and will be many more people who are in fact better martial artists, and better fighters then Bruce Lee. Lee studied for maybe a total of 19 years. Many people on this section have been studying twice that. If not for his movies, Bruce Lee would have no where near the popularity he has, and if not for his mysterious death, would have no where near the cult following he does.

I am not putting him down, because I love his movies and I think he was a very good martial artist, I just feel that many people don't think for themselves and are to willing to beleive that Bruce could beat the chinese army single handed.

Oh I await the thumbs down from all the Cult of Bruce followers. Still doesn't change facts.

  6. Any one who believes in the "one in punch" actually being effective outside of a demonstration on a stage is living in a fantasy world.  Secondly, I always see people referencing Bruce's street fights as credible evidence for his mystical powers.  However, if Kimbo Slice had never actually entered mma and exposed that he is average at best, would his legend grow to mythical proportions in 30 years?  Bruce Lee was an innovator and an amazing practioner, no on can deny that.  But using street fights against either untrained fighters or against other karate practioners who fight in one style and one style only, hardly proves that Bruce Lee would "would not have a problem with grapplers."  That is simply an unsubstantiated claim that is based on the same type of hope in superheroes that little kids have.  Respect the man, but be realistic.

  7. techniques have evolved since then.  Bruce Lee would of evolved with them if he had resisted the urge to use drugs.  He was the best there ever was and the best there ever will be for one simple fact.

He lived martial arts and his style which is studied by many was based on that principle.  He would of adapted and the ones that even consider the practicality of a man that devoted his entire life to martial arts to the point that his own health and family came second to it should have a reality check.

I used to love the debates about "who would win a fight"  they're usually entertaining but don't go much farther then that.  Mere entertainment from imbeciles that like to brag about "my dad can beat up your dad"

In a nut shell you pretty much answered your own question in the title.  the questions are nearly retarded because they are.  and the retards are the only ones asking
