I know obama also seems to agree w mccain on this, (but i disagree with him as well) that families are off limts, but for candidates who claim to be so strong on family values, especially one who's running a campaign to be vice president, her role as a mother must come into question!

how can you clamor so much about family values and suggest that the american people have no right to question how you govern your own family? that's beyond me... your thoughts.

  1. noone's attacking the daughter..we all know children make mistakes...but we also know parents are mostly responsible for grievous decisions by their kids, particularly a parent who is so ultra conservative on family values.

this is not about the daughter...it's about the MOTHER's ROLE AS A MOTHER.

  2. The American public do deserve to know everything about Palin and her family after all if Palin ever became President your tax dollars will be used to protect and house them. In fact I would go further and say it is of great importance to the rest of the world as the world looks up to America and the Palin image isn't popular outside America.

As for Obama, I think he would have liked to attack her on the issue. However he has to apply some political correctness to the issue in order to not lose more female voters.

  3. Because they don't want to admit that they are wrong. If it were the democrats they would catch it. What goes around comes around.

  4. Obama said he was a uniter and then we find out he went to a racist church, even bringing the kids.  There's pictures of Michelle with Mrs Farrakhan the anti semite.  Yet,we're called racists if we question the Messiah, I think Michelle should be called into question ,

  5. Yes, it's not about her daughter, it's about Sarah Palin's desire to put conservative moral values into government policies.  Her views on what is public and what is private about a pregnancy are front and center issues.

  6. Hears the best part: A Democrat whining about morals but would vote for Obama who made the TOP TEN MOST CORRUPT POLITICIANS LIST!  Democrats flushing what's left of there creditability down the toilet!

  7. hey twin lol

i think all innocent children should always be off limits. It's wrong to exploit a child. It has nothing to do with "family values". It has to do with a child's privacy.

  8. Do you govern your family?  When you kids were little, did they fall down, make mistakes, forget to do their homework.  Everyone makes mistakes and it is just evil to concentrate your venom over it.

    fs

  9. Fair enough. Let's talk about the neglect and starvation for parental attention that the Obama children (both elementary school age) suffer as their parents campaign nationawide for the past 2 years.  Or how about the way there parents exploit their "cuteness" by allowing them to share the spotlight at the DNC to grab some more votes.  How about the way Michelle practically had to shove them off stage.

"Obama, 44, has worked as a lawyer and a hospital executive in Chicago. She left her job to help on her husband's campaign. They have two daughters, Malia, 9, and Sasha, 7.

She said she would always be a working mother.

"I used to get up in the morning and go to an office. Now I get up and go to a plane. ... My kids still don't care where I am," she said. "

See why it is disgusting to include the kids?

  10. We feel sorry for the republicans, the so-called moral values people...

Palin's daughter drop it, so the republicans have to take it and smell it!

PS:The words on the street said Palin's daughter, the 17 years old gonna have two children, cause the so-called Sarah's 5th child is not true. It's just Bristol's child too!

  11. The Repubs change standards to suit themselves.

  12. The girl is pregnant. So what's the story. It happens all the time in America. We gave up the scarlet letter long ago.

We are mature enough to know this is not a reflection on the mother and it certainly isn't a reflection on how she would govern.

Why do you want to exploit a 17 year old girl for political gain?

  13. Excellent point, She put them up on front street by running as the candidate of family values, yet every day something new with this candidate. Plus now this affiliation with this Party that wants to break from the USA. isn't that Anti- American? What will it be tomorrow, and how much more will the Republicans take?

  14. Either way, it is a bit of a joke after the Republicans have been attacking Michelle and attacked Kerry's wife Heinz. Maybe they mean that children are off limits? Who knows...

  15. Obama doesn't need to use this.  Palin's ultra conservative views will be all Obama and Biden need to take this election by a landslide in November.

  16. Just because her daughter is pregnant at 17 DOES NOT make her a bad mother!!  So by this remark all 17 year olds that are pregnant right now have bad mothers.  My mother had me when she was 15 and she was a h**l of a mother.  You can still have strong family values in this situation.  Sometimes I wonder if everyone would have rather had her abort the baby maybe then they wouldn't complain and criticize so much about her or her mother.

  17. Very mature... Going after a nominee's child now?  Wow, liberals have come to an all time low.  At least she didn't abort, like MANY liberals.  She is being mature, getting married to a man she is in love with, and going to raise her baby.  I highly respect her. She is supportive of not killing babies, and raising your children, rather than letting daycares do it.  Yes, her child got pregnant, but she is going to raise her child with a mother and a father.

  18. Yeah, this is a problem.  She really has no business talking about strong family values because Palin is showing how she doesn't have them.

  19. Simple. Because the kids and the husband aren't running for office, so hounding her daughter is out of line.

But we've all come to expect a certain lack of simple decency from certain media types...

  20. Okay, go ahead.  Attack all you like.  Know what it will get for you and your candidate?  Nothing.

You seem to have trouble realizing what family values are.  Are you saying, perhaps, that Obama has no family values?

Oh, he does?  Well, then.....perhaps you will like HIS family scrutinized?  Perhaps the parentage of HIS children should be questioned, do you think?

Are you really ready to open that can of worms?

  21. Was it not Obama who said leave my wife a lone .

and you know what when he said this it has been

the only thing i have agreed with that he has said .

Michelle is not running for president . his children are not running for president . neither is Sarah palin's children running for president .

a candidates spouses and children should be off limits .

and i totally agree and respect Obama for his stance on this .

  22. I don't think it should matter. If they are making speeches at rally's and the convention and publicly campaigning then they have chosen to be in the public eye and that's different. If they're not out there telling me who to vote for, they deserve their privacy. If they are telling me who to vote for then it is important to know where they are coming from. Cindy and Michelle are out there campaining and they are NOT off limits.

  23. They just have their fingers stuck in their ears while they go lalalalalalalal!

  24. Who says that the family is off limits

If the family interjects themselves into the campaign or if the candidate does it's all fair game

    However

Libeling and demeaning the character of a young girl bu continuing to make accusations that have been proven false about whether she had a child is uncalled for and pathetic

  25. Republicans just want to shove their beliefs down your throat, and not actually apply them to their lives. Jesus Christ isn't Palin a walking advertisement FOR birth control?

  26. Obama said that first.  Families are off limits.

  27. They are not saying the families are off limits , they are saying leave the minor children out of it. The kids are not campaigning and they are not running.

  28. The Democrats just don't get it.  Republicans never said they are perfect, but when we make mistakes we try to do the right thing!  This situation is "family values" at its very core.  The daughter made a mistake -- as I'm sure even Democrat girls do.  But instead of killing the baby -- as I'm sure many Democrat girls do -- she decided to give her child life.  What is more beautiful than that ending?

Either way, Democrats lose on this one.  If you want to talk about family values, the Palins are a shining example of family values in action (how they deal with human fallibility).  If you rake Gov. Palin over the coals on it, voters will be turned off by your insensitivity toward a very personal family situation.

  29. That's her platform.  And I'll get personal for a minute.  I talked to an amazing guy that was hard core christian republican.  (We are not friends anymore.)  I asked him about abortion, which he is for.  I asked him, "Why don't your people the conservatives see a nice teen kid with a baby" "And say thanks for keeping that child."  My friend told me they should have had it in the first place. So on that crazy note.  That's the people that say one thing and do the other.
