Why are the russians killing georgians ? ?

I think they've stopped now. They say it was to stop the Georgians killing the ossetians. It may be to stop Georgia from joining NATO though.

They may be worried that if georgia joins NATO that it will give the US the ability to attack Russia and also to take the oil from the Caspian and central Asia.

It depends who you listen to. The americans or the russians.
