  2. Why is "El corte inglés" called "English" if it's in Spain?

Why are "hamburgers" called like that if they are not from Hamburg?

Why do many people from the US call Latin Americans Spanish if they don't have even Spanish roots?

  3. they were probably named by an american.

  4. The steps were originally done in order to connect Piazza di Spagna, named after Spanish (Bourbon) embassy to Piazza Trinità dei Monti, named after the church. The reason was linking the Embassy to the Holy See.

Ironically 1) the steps are French-made, since the House of Bourbon ruled over both France and Spain, and part of Italy; 2) in Italy the steps are named after "the other square":  "Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti"
