Why are the storms so much more frequent now?!?

i live in NY...and i know it normally rains and thunderstorms a lot more in the summer than any other season...but they are way more dangerous than before! these past like 5 nights have been dangerous thunderstorms. like lightning like ive never seen and the loudest thunder...honestly i have a lightning phobia...im slowley getting over it but this is horrible...its storming now...and i unplugged my laptop and stuff but we have 3 TALLL skinny trees in our backyard so if lightning was to hit them it would come crashing into our house.

I am told (by authorities in whom I have some degree of trust) that, historically (over the last five or six thousand years), weather patterns generally run in cycles of good and bad over about thirty years.  These same authorities also tell me that we are on the tail end of a 30-year good weather cycle.

The chances of lightning striking are very very very small. Plus for it to hit a tree (smaller), plus for it to come crashing through your window (even smaller). Don't worry. It's just another storm. The seasons seem to be slowly shifting. It'll be summer before you know it. Stay dry.

They are not happening more frequently.   But you do have outbreaks that are more than the normal in some years.   It just seems like more...

lol i live in new york city, and there's frequent storms these past days. but it's because summer, where the weather rises. When the temperature is hot, there's a lot of moisture in the air, and as a result it has storms to give off the moisture in the atmosphere. Also as global warming increases there would be more storms as a reult of this.
