Why are the sun's rays stronger on darker shades of color to cause more heat?

  1. Lighter colors have a reflective property and darker colors therefore tend to hold and absorb the heat since they don't reflect it


  2. Black absorbs more heat. Same with dark colors. Lighter colors such as white do not absorb heat.
