I AM SICK AND TIRED OF EVERY 5TH FUC*ING QUESTION ON THIS SITE SAYING THAT UMPIRES ARE WINNING GAMES FOR TEAMS!!!

people! WAKE UP TO YOURSELVES!

think about it....when was the last time you blamed your teams loss on their performance? When was the last time you blamed your teams lost because the ohter team was just to strong for your team? Now, When was the last time you blamed your teams loss on the umpire?....last week maybe?

c'mon, cant you get the picture. Players make mistakes....the crowd forgets it after a few seconds. then an umpire calls a 'too high' and after 50 million replays, one of the angles shows that its too high when its at super slow motion speed!

people! we are humans to! we make mistakes! We have bad games! We also have just as many good games!

these guys in the AFL are the best in the business. They are the best 32 umpires in Australia!

  1. Because Umpires are c**p.....

  2. The umpires are blamed because they ARE the cause, of one side losing matches, due to very bad performances.

If a so called AFL umpire don't know the rules of a boundary throw ins (as displayed in the edit to the original question) then we really do have problems. But then again, anyone can make claim to being an AFL umpire on this site. Lies are told on here every day.

  3. COS IT IS

  4. Come on AFLU ... you know that's WHY you umpire isn't it?  To get abused, spat on, have your tyres slashed, turn up and waste a night waiting around a tribunal every Tuesday.

It might be bad in the AFL, but it's far worse in Junior hockey or junior anything for that matter.  My Johnny's a champion and it's all YOUR fault that he played like shite and gave away 30 frees!

Those 32 guys must be the biggest masochists in the game.  BUt being an ump myself won't stop me abusing them for being blind!  It's been that way since Adam met Sherrin and wrote her name on the ball.

  5. The umpires are blamed for team losses due to poor decisions standing out & sticking in the minds of the spectators.

99 out of 100 umpires have never played the game at a reasonable level. They are generally little blokes with big egos running around blowing their whistles more than a womens net ball umpire.

Because they have never played the game they repeatedly get conned by players staging for free kicks. Everyone at the ground bar the umpire can plainly see what is going on. No wonder the spectators get frustrated!

The umps love being wired up & can yell out 'play on' to their hearts content & to the annoyance of viewers. They even call out play on after a boundry throw in & bounce downs......sheeeeeesh!!!

Plus they do coaching while umpiring - telling the players to keep their eyes on the ball; knock the ball out'; keep their hands in the air & so on.......do they believe they are umpiring a nippers game?

Umpires are at the worst level now since I can remember.

  6. yeah i cant stand it when fans allways say we lost because of the Umps, just face it ya team lost,

  7. because people are to gutless to admit there team hada bad game it pees me off as a hawk supporter in the last 6 years i have never blamed a umpire 4 us losing a game i have though criticised certain decisions but they cant be blamed for your team losing when the hawks were losing it wasnt the umpires it was that we were to young n not good enough but look at us hawks now?

  8. you just wish you were the ones out there playing the footy

  9. AFL umpire, I agree with you. I refereed basketball and you have a split second to decide to blow the whistle, only one angle and don't have time to leaf through the rule book.

All the complaints seem to forget that the players CHOOSE to break the rules. The umpire is doing his/her job to blow the whistle.

Television has 13 or more angles, replays, etc. If all the whiners don't like it, they can grab a whistle and start out in the under 10's. After a few games, they would understand. Most just don't have the testicular or intestinal fortitude to become an umpire or referee in any sport.

  10. History dictates that there have and will again be umpiring decisions made which, on the face of it, appear to be biased decisions. I agree that commentariats' time would be better be spent thinking about why the Team loses, rather than looking for quick and easy scapegoats.

  11. Well I haven't done it in a while cause Doggies are 3-0 haha :) But Friday night the free kick against Aka for a push in the back after the umpire had fallen over and barely saw what happened was bullsh!t
