Why are the weather people full of ****?

they say its going to rain all over the uk but im yet to see it.

Because weather is extremely unpredictable. Therefore, weather prediction is a very difficult branch of science, and accuracy is a lot lower than in other branches.

It is not the weather people who are full of whatever, it is just that they cannot predict it with 100% accuracy.

And be glad it is dry where you are. We get freak showers when we least expect them.

doesn't matter where you live, you'll do better by just sticking your head out of the door....it's more accurate.

Because they don't really know what the weather will be like. Weather can be very unpredictable. So weather people just make their best guess using rudimentary means. Even with the help of satellites they still get it wrong 99% of the time.

That's the way it will be until the day we learn how to harness the weather ourselves. And then we'll be totally screwed : P

predicting weather isn't perfect yet, they have alot of things to help them, machines, experts etc. weather people don't get in front of a TV and just lie for no reason,

I'm sure it is raining, or has rained, somewhere over the UK.  This is one of the problems faced in forecasting, spatial resolution.  Forecasts tend to be for areas, while people want to know if it is going to rain AT their specific location.

The only way you will know is by studying meteorology yourself. Everything is on the internet; weather maps, statistics, forecasts, etc.

Do you own forecasting for the next days based on the weather maps you can get. See how the low and high pressures are moving, how wind and rain/snow are created.

... then see how close you get to the weatherman. Meteorology is a beautiful hobby. It requires nearly nothing, changes everyday and is always a challenge.

While most profession see people fully trained when they start working, meteorology is a science where one learns every day!
