Why are the wisest men in history homeless

Jesus, Socrates, Siddhartha/Budda, etc. The author of the Zohar (father and son) lived in a cave 12 years hiding from the Romans while writing it.

When one bucks the system and is a freethinker it makes sense to be mobile. But our mouths give us away, "they" get us in the end.

I don't see Jesus, Budda or Moses as great wise men because they're involved with religion...

But about Socrates, people thought he was a madman for not thinking like other people, actually being the different one.... Not like the other 10000000 people listening to the leader of the society and staying stupid!

Rumi was rich and influental. Shams chose to be abrasive and so wandered. Muhammad made a good living before he got inspired. Aristotle was prosperous. Ashoka the Great, Darius were kings. Seneca was very prosperous. Tientai was the head of his own monastic order and became the head of all the schools of Buddhism in China of his time after he won an imperially decreed debate with the other main schools. Vasubhandu came from a very prosperous family and didn't relinquish his birthright. Shakyamuni was the son of a king and voluntarily decided to abandon homes and posessions. Homelessness is clearly not a requisite for wisdom

When we make wide sweeping remarks as in your question it is bound to be false.

A cave can be considered a home, to others not.  Just as a cabin can be considered home to others and to Donald trump not. Home is what you make it.

There are thousands of wise men who had an address, for example.
