Why are their more overweight women than men?

it seems like everywhere I go both sexes are overweight, but it seems much more frequently women are. I don't understand because it seems like men definitely eat more.

Men on average have a faster metabolism and tend to store less fat than women. We also store different types of fat more than women and we store it in different areas.

In other words. Men will more often be fat all in one place (stomach) while women will be fat everywhere.

i suspect that western society is a bit more lenient on guys carrying extra weight than ladies. the whole double standard ya know!!!

take a more critical look at guys you see as "fit" & perhaps you'll see the spare weight.

btw; men can eat more cuz it takes more calories to maintain the greater body mass,.....sorry!

Estrogen. It gives us women a tendency to not only pack on more weight, but also have a harder time losing it. Lovely huh? Add to that having babies, which also makes you put on weight, and there you go.

Women are more shallow than men so men have to worry more about being slim and buff whereas women can afford to be overweight because, even if they are fat, they'll still have large b*****s.  So men won't care.

women are over weight mainly because either when they have a baby it is hard to go to the natural weight. OR if u don't have a baby it is usually because the girls body is getting ready for childbirth so pretty much it sucks for us girls!

Womens' bodies are inherently composed of more fat tissue than mens'. Fat tissue doesn't burn energy to the extent that muscle does. Therefore, women don't have to overindulge as severely as men do to gain weight in the form of fat.

Because women are stressed out, I'd say it's about equal though, I've seen plenty of overweight men in my short lifetime.
