Why are there MISSING CHANNELS on XM Radio?

For those who know about XM Radio...

Why are there missing channels? If you scale up the "dial", there are numbers that get skipped over. Does anyone know why?

They skip over numbers for future channels. So they don't cram everything in.

If you are missing channels and you know there should be a channel there you might have blocked the channel and check your Add/Skip channels in the menu.

They are for future channels or they have some channels that are only on special times like Christmas music channels.

I am assuming there are missing channels because they can fill those in, in the future when they make up more channels.
