Why are there NO CLEAR BIC lighters?

Ive heard that its because the plastic is more expensive but BIC is a premium lighter and im sure people would pay an extra 10 cents to make up the production cost.

I DONT BUY IT that no one has discussed or brought this up this cannot be some novel idea no one has ever thought of. There are oodles of other-brand clear lighters. Just imagine. A s**y, Translucently colored quality BIC lighter. Almost enough to get you to start smoking again.

The type of plastic used in Bic lighjters does not lend itself to being cast in transparent or translucent form. Note that the "no-brand" transparent lighters have bodies that visiby thicker than that used by Bic.

If Bic adopted that type of plastic, it would reduce the amount of butane available in what is already a premium-priced product. That would be enough to make the product uncompetitive.
