You know, I'm sure all of you remember when powerpuff girls came out.

Well, throughout this month i can't help but notice cartoon network's commercials for a sequel. powerpuff girls 2 (or z)

www.youtube.com/watch?v=nO26Jn_bFkI

(you will have to copy & paste the link)

And as a guy, I just can't shake the notion that this looks just like sailormoon, .....a show nototiously known for its "fanserice" (i.e. sexual situations, s**y transformations) and numerous internet p**n content.

And now with the powerpuff girls dressed in skin tight outfits and the typical anime short skirts...it will only be a matter of time before this franchise as well is also overtaken by fanservice and p**n.

WHY???

Now i'm gonna have to get something else for my little daughter to watch.

I mean seriously, do the animators think the kids will be so naive as not to notice this?

Well i'm not taking any chances, i'm not gonna let her watch that; even if it means having her watch "transformers animated" instead, i know its a guy show, but at least it doesn't meddle with s**y content.

  1. I watched that promo, and really didn't see anything overly sexual, besides the short skirts.  I remember from when I was a kid, and She-Ra and the females from He-Man actually had very s**y bodies.  These Powerpuff girls look like Snorks compared to them!  True, they are drawn in a more Anime fashion than I remember.  I seem to remember them just having huge round heads and very tiny bodies.  But just because they look like Sailor Moon characters doesn't mean they'll be depicted in similar situations.  Why don't you just watch a couple episodes without your daughter, and make sure it's OK?  I know what you're saying, though.  Those Bratz are whores.

  2. well... as you probably have noticed, this era is very sexual; all the advertisements and media.

However, powerpuff girls z is an anime version of the original powerpuff girls and does not have any sexual content. Yes, it is highly possible that fans and other losers may make sexual version of this anime as many anime fans do that (becaause they have no life)

It is not the animators fault that anime is eventually turned into p**n and fan service - all these happen by fans for fans; it's not an official thing.

Yes there are anime which contain scenes for teenagers and adults but i guess it's your responsibility as a father to avoid that and let your kids watch something else, yes?

anime like powerpuff girls z are directed for kids (maybe except for the fighting violence) just like pokemon. Pokemon started out for kids and is still for kids.

Short anime films such as powerpuff girls z are pre-made, where as pokemon episodes keeps on airing and each episode is produced each week. Pre-made shows like powerpuff girls z do not alter their story line and suddenly turn to fan service and p**n for ratings

So you don't have to worry about that show containing bad things.

You just need to watch out for anime shows that contain what you want to avoid as anime is actually meant for older children in the first place, unlike cartoon which are for kids.

If you are unsure of the shows your kids are watching, post a question here about the show or visit animenewsnetwork.com (if it's anime) and check out its genre.

If it contains the "ecchi" category, you will want to avoid it - it's like fan service.

for age rating, as long as it's says for older children, it won't contain anything bad (maybe just mild violence, like powerpuff girls)

for powerpuff girls z info: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclop...

    hope this helped  ^.^

  3. I don't think it'll go into p**n and such. A lot of animes are butchered to death by many companies to prevent children from seeing adult material. As much as it irritates the older fans, it is very beneficial to the children.

Sailor Moon was not supposed to be for girls under 11. Sailor Moon was a shojo manga series meaning it's target group was girls 11-18. I have known 3 and 4 year old girls that have watched it, though.

Powerpuff Girls Z, I believe is also intended for girls a tad older than the viewers of the original series, too. Short skirts are typical, I'm seriously not surprised. I think that's all it's going to come to for this series. I would check some subbed episodes out online if you're really concerned.

But, don't let me tell you whether your daughter should watch shows like that at her age (which I'm guessing is pretty young) . You're the parent, you do what ever you think is best for her.

I also agree how disgusting the world has become with making little girls grow up too fast. Little girls shouldn't look like a trashy woman (to put it lightly =] ), they should look like children.

That's all I have to say. I personally don't think Cartoon Network allows s**y content. They've been pretty clean when I've watched them. But, like I said, you're the parent.

    Good luck.

  4. simple, because kids cant create cartoons. Adults simply create cartoons for kids, but if its not educational, then its gonna have something that kids can laugh at, but not relise that it has something inappropriate or adult-related. hope this helps =]

  5. A lot of parents don't sit down and watch these shows with their kids.  They use the tube as a babysitter.  They don't really care what their kiddies are watching as long as it keeps them quiet and out of their hair for a while.  Secondly, some parents find the sexualizing of their little girls "cute."  A few months ago, I was in Target and saw little girls' underwear (I mean for like 3-5 year olds) with words on it like "Hottie" and "Eye Candy."  I couldn't believe it!  Look at those Bratz baby dolls.  They look like baby hookers and they're being marketed to little girls.  Parents really have to make an effort to know what's out there and not be afraid to say no to toys and shows they don't want their kids seeing.  Unfortunately, a lot of them don't have to backbone to do that.

  6. Your Kidding, right?  Get your mind out of the Gutter.  When they are little its not about the s*x, it's about the story & characters' Character.  When an anime is targeted at little kids they won't start having fan service.  Some might(probably already have) make an Doujinshi of it, but that perverted Adults(Late Teens).  Don't write off a perfectly good Anime because your Paranoid.  "Oh Look, they're wearing short skirts, its all about the s*x."  Please.  What does she watch now?  FOX ( s*x, s*x, s*x), Disney(Subliminal s*x Content), Nick (Cloistered s*x Addicts),  At Least Dubbed Anime has gone through Rigorous Censorship  to filter out any possible Sexual Content because "cartoons are for Kids".  They might wear skin-tight suits and skirts, but there is no Definition and they aren't showing any pantsu.  And it's not about showing anything.  Its about the Story.

Side Note : No matter what School she (will go or is going) to She will encounter a lot worse.  This S**t starts in Elementary School, (it's F**king Sick).  (I was in a store the other day, and these 2 boys were talking about how tight this girls was, THEY WERE NO OLDER THAN 4th Grade)  Not to put you off but you will need to lock her up in something similar to that "Inner Sanctuary" in Kurenai(Anime), to keep her from this Stuff.
